We all probably have an idea of how much we would ideally like to make each month when starting a new internet based business.

Maybe $1k, $5k or even $10k+ but we all usually start from $0.

For some people the goal could just be to supplement an existing income, whilst for others it may be to enable them to quit their 9 to 5 job at some stage.

So where to get started and how hard can it be?

Firstly it’s a good idea not to over complicate things, to start your online business you just need to do the following:

1 — Choose a good niche to go into.

2 — Find where your audience hangs out.

3 — Identify a problem(s) they have.

4 — Provide a solution (Product or service).

That’s really all you need to figure out before getting started.

Yes there is still the techie side of things such as setting your website up, integrating email service provider etc but don’t be put off, it’s really not that difficult.

There is a bit of a learning curve if you’re a complete beginner but we all had to get started somewhere.

This is all covered in the Digital Profits Academy

You can set up a website or blog today and be making money in just a few weeks, maybe even just days depending on your chosen traffic strategies.

I’ve never relied solely on getting traffic from organic search and with recent updates that is no longer a good strategy to follow, diversification is now more important than ever.

While you can still get organic search traffic you should look at other sources such as social media, content marketing, forums, q & a sites and paid ads, there is no shortage of traffic out there.

Then once you’re getting visitors to your website and content you can start to add monetization.

Products, Services and Affiliate Marketing

You can promote your own products or services if you have them, or start by promoting other people’s products or services as an affiliate and earn commissions.

For example, some of the biggest money-makers are digital products such as:
— eBooks
— Software
— Online courses
— Coaching

Display Ads

You will need your own website for this and usually only viable after a few months.

You could start with Google adsense before moving to higher paying ad networks when you have enough traffic.

Sponsored Posts (including newsletter sponsors)

If you get enough traffic you could allow other marketers to pay you for hosting their posts on your website or running an ad/sponsored post in your newsletter if you have one.

You make money and they get traffic so it can be a win -win if done correctly.

Scaling Your Business

So once you’ve got started and made your first $$ income it’ll be time to look at scaling your business to hit your higher income expectations.

That’s one of the great things about online business, once you can make $100 you can scale up and make $1k, $5k even $10k+ and it’s just a case of driving more visitors while remaining profitable.

Scaling up does have its challenges but as you gain experience with driving traffic and optimizing conversions it is definitely doable.

Exit Strategy — Selling your business

At some stage you may decide to sell your online business or website and if it’s making a decent monthly profit you may want to consider this.

Websites can often sell for up to 40x monthly profit depending on traffic and monetization methods.

Finally, as I’m sure you can see by now this doesn’t have to be over complicated but it does still take some time, effort and work to get there.

To help speed up your progress you always have the option of getting some help and guidance from someone who’s already been there and overcome the type of issues you might run into on your journey.

Whether you’re a budding entrepreneur, passionate content or course creator, the Digital Profits Academy is your key to starting and growing your own thriving online business.

You also get the full and comprehensive 0 to $10k Blueprint included in the academy training.

Looking forward to working with you.
